Abstract

This article analyzes the treatment given to multiculturalism and interculturality in Chilean secondary school textbooks. This is essential in the current context of Chile, where migration has increased significantly in the last 10 years, as has the visibility of ethnic and Afro-descendant groups in the country. The methodology used is descriptive documentary type, this article being part of a larger study that seeks to investigate the beliefs and conceptions of teachers about the inclusion of ethnic groups, migrants and people of African descent in history and social science classes, as well as your participation in society. In conclusion, it can be seen that the texts include some brief aspects on ethnicity and migration, however, it is done from an official perspective, which does not disturb the established social status quo.
