Abstract

This article presents the results of a research carried out with the third-year students of the Primary Education Bachelor Degree in the University of Córdoba (Spain) during the academic year 2019/2020, within the subject of Didactics of Social Sciences. Our intention has been to establish ways to improve the teaching-learning processes in the Social Sciences discipline. This research was developed within the framework of a practical activity in which the students worked the cultural heritage, specifically the Archaeological Museum of Córdoba as a tool for learning local history. The knowledge of the closest medium is a fundamental resource for learning the broader historical dynamics, as well as the particular and the general ideas, the specific and the abstract concepts and the connection between local and global phenomena. For this, before and after the activity, future teachers gave us their impressions and perspectives on this matter, which have served to reflect on the content and design of teaching.
