Abstract

The mineral resources found in the area that would later be occupied by the mining town of Cáceres and its direct relationship with the Costanaza mine, Logrosán, are the focus of the educational project proposed to work with the students, transmitting their origins and cultural background. The exploitation of these mineral resources led to a modification of the territory and the landscape, generating the development of architectural complexes that would give rise to the appearance of the mining cultural heritage on which we focused the project. The economic, demographic and industrial consequences generated by these farms caused a great boom and development of the population centers in which they were located. This caused the population to increase considerably, since these activities require the considerable development of associated infrastructures (such as transport and storage), requiring a large workforce. This in turn generated a great industrial development, as these minerals were treated and reconverted into products that were destined for national and international trade. The general objective of the work is to design an educational innovation proposal for primary school students, with the idea of expanding their knowledge about the mining industrial heritage and making visible the value they had for the growth of Cáceres and Logrosán. This educational project will be based on the design of a series of activities with the intention that students recognize the importance of these sites, offering cultural enrichment that involves treating the social reality of these historical spaces.
