Abstract

The text presents elements of a proposal for teaching Geography dedicated to the Citizen life of students, helping them to develop their geographical thinking. In this sense, the geographical landscape stands out as one of the concepts that make up this thought. In order to develop the text, firstly, the bases of the proposal are presented, consistent with the aforementioned objective, and it goes on to formulate an understanding of the concept of landscape, important symbolic instrument in this proposal, a concept that explains its character of form, of the physiognomy of space, but that expresses its content. Therefore, through the integrated analysis of the landscape, one can access the natural and social dynamics that produced them. Then, presents methodological ways to work in the daily life of classes with the goal of internalization of this concept by elementary school students.
